At Veatch, we realize that you have a substantial investment in your ophthalmic equipment. Your equipment and ophthalmic instruments must be kept in the best shape possible in order for you to efficiently serve your patients and maintain a well running and successful practice. We assist you in this endeavor through the Veatch General Maintenance Program. We will send you a friendly reminder when it's time to service your phoroptor, keratometer, projector, slit lamp, retinal camera, lensmeter, ophthalmoscope, exam chair, or any other area of your exam lane equipment. Your ophthalmic equipment is like any important investment, it requires maintenance to maintain its effectiveness and its value.

 Here at Veatch Instruments when we service a Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscope (BIO) we don't just clean the eyepieces and send it back out. We disassemble it down to its basic components and clean them individually. When a BIO gets dropped (which happens a lot) we align the optics and replace the necessary parts, clean all the components and reassemble. Then, we use a schematic eye along with a 20D lens to make sure the field of view is crisp and fused. If you need to repair or service your Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscope, use technicians you know you can trust.

Our experienced ophthalmic equipment service provider will clean and adjust the exam chair, stand arms and mechanisms. They will also clean and adjust the slit lamp and projector, check calibration of the equipment and clean and adjust the refractor. Preventative maintenance will ensure the long life of your ophthalmic equipment.

 The best way to keep your lensmeter working is to keep it maintained. As with other instruments, we do a detailed overhaul with our ophthalmic equipment maintenance service. We disassemble the lensmeter, and then disassemble the sub-assemblies, and then systematically clean the parts. The optical surfaces are cleaned, and the power, axis, and reticle are adjusted to give it that "like new" feel. The unit is reassembled and checked on our precision lens sets for optical accuracy, and we use a special alignment tool to align the inker pins to optical center. You’ll get a thoroughly cleaned lensmeter, aligned for accuracy and ready to help you care for your patients.

 Our technicians have the training and the alignment tools to align and calibrate the Reichert (or American Optical) NCT II, Xpert, and Xpert plus models, as well as the Topcon CT-10, CT-20, and CT-60 air puff tonometers. While we're at it, we clean the optics, adjust the tracking and elevation mechanisms, and clean the outside for a truly comprehensive maintenance service. If you have high tech instrumentation, you shouldn’t clean it yourself or hire inexperienced technicians – you must have the equipment serviced appropriately to preserve the delicate instrumentation, data integrity and long term value of your ophthalmic equipment.
